Covid-19: Bangladesh reports highest toll of single-day death in current year

Bangladesh reported 39 deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the highest record of a single-day death toll, raising the total number of deaths to 8,869 across the country so far.

Besides, a total of 3,674 new cases were detected over the same period, taking the total number of infected cases to 5,91,806 across the country.

A press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the development on Saturday (March 27).

Some 1,971 people made recovery from the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 5,33,922, according to the release.
