India reports new record in Covid-19 cases, deaths

As many as 4,12,618 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative caseload to 2,10,70,852.

The new cases have seen a jump after two days of decline.

The fatality count in India has also gone up to 3,982. This is the most number of deaths recorded in the country in 24 hours. The cumulative death toll now stands at 2,30,151.

International survey organisation Worldometer came up with the development on Thursday (May 6) morning.

The first coronavirus outbreak occurred in Wuhan, China, in December of 2019. It started spreading gradually in different countries of the world.
