Bangladesh wants immediate delivery of vaccine from USA
Bangladesh has sought immediate delivery of 4 million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine from the United States.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said this at a meeting with US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Miller on Thursday morning.
Talking to journalists, Dr AK Abdul Momen said the USA has 60 million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine. Bangladesh has sought one to two crore doses of those and we want immediate delivery of 4 million doses from the USA.
Dr Momen said the government wants to continue the inoculation programme with vaccines from alternative sources.
The foreign minister said the Bangladesh mission in the USA and expatriates are working sincerely to provide the vaccine doses.
He also said the Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka recently informed us that vaccine from China will arrive here on May 12.
