UK imposes travel ban on 4 countries including Bangladesh

The United Kingdom (UK) has imposed a travel ban on four countries including Bangladesh to prevent coronavirus infection.

Other countries in the list are Philippines, Pakistan, and Kenya.

The ban was announced in a directive issued by the country’s communications department on Friday (April 2).

According to the directive, international visitors who have travelled from or through those countries in the previous 10 days will be refused entry.

An exception is made for British or Irish passport holders, or people with UK residence rights.

But they must first pay to quarantine in a government-approved hotel for 10 days.

The ban will be effective from 4:00 am on April 9, the directive said.
