Bangladesh, India want to see peace in the world: Narendra Modi


Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that both Bangladesh and India want to see peace in the world rather than their own development and progress.


He made the remark while exchanging views with family members of Harichand Thakur and Matua community leaders on Saturday noon.


Narendra Modi visited Orakandi Thakur Bari, a sacred shrine of the ‘Matua’ community at Kashiani upazila in Gopalganj .


Narendra Modi’s helicopter landed at 12.25am at the helipad constructed near Orakandi Temple.


He also attended a worshiping session.


All preparations were taken ahead of the visit of Indian premier who attended the events marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee of Independence of Bangladesh.


Earlier Narendra Modi reached Tungipara in the district to pay homage to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his mausoleum. He planted a tree there.


Four helipads and 500 metres of road were constructed while the temple and surrounding areas were decorated beautifully marking his visit.

Stringent security measures were taken for the visit of the Indian premier.


A three-tier security measures were taken for the visit.
