Man dies hearing son’s death news



A man has died after hearing news of his son’s death with coronavirus-like symptoms in Narayanganj.
The incident took place at Dakkhin Ajibpur area under Siddirganj upazila of the district around 11:00am on Monday.
According to relatives, Rimon Saud, 24, died with coronavirus-like symptoms at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), just after a while of taking admission to the hospital early Monday.
Hearing the death news of son, Year Hossain, 60, suffered a massive stroke around 8:00am on the day. He was also taken to DMCH where he succumbed.
Masum Saud, cousin of dead Rimon Saud, expressed grievance that there is no arrangement for treatment in the country. Rimon fell sick around 3:00am on Monday. Then, he himself walked downstairs from the 1st floor and got on car. Then, we took him to different hospitals in Dhaka. But all hospitals refused to give him treatment as he had coronavirus-like symptoms—fever, cough and shortness of breath. Later, we went to DMCH where he died around 5:00am.
Hearing the death news of son, uncle Year Hossain suffered from stroke. Later, he was also whisked off to DMCH where he died around 8:00am, he said.
He further said sample of Rimon was tested to be confirmed whether he was infected with coronavirus. But the report has yet not been revealed.
Year Hossain was president of Siddirganj Sardar para mosque committee.
