Train schedule collapses





Sufferings of the homebound passengers mounted up on Friday as they were facing a severe collapse of train schedules at Kamalapur railway station in the capital.

According to the railway sources, the Rajshahi-bound Dhumketu Express was set to depart from Kamalapur station at 6.00 but it left the station at 10.45am.

The Chilahati-bound Nilsagar was set to leave around 8:00am, but it left Dhaka at 12.05pm.

The Khulna-bound Sundarban Express was set to depart from Dhaka station around 6:20am, but it left Dhaka for Khulna around 8.30am.

A Rangpur-bound train was set to depart from Dhaka station around 9:00am, but it did not reach till 12.00pm.



Kamalapur railway station authorities said, the delays of the train schedules happened as more passengers are getting in and getting down at different stations, the trains arrives late at the destinations.

Braving all sorts of odds, the city people in thousands are leaving capital Dhaka for their respective village homes to celebrate the Eid-ul-Azha with their near and dear ones.

Dhaka city-dwellers started leaving the city on Thursday afternoon, the last day of the government office.

But, a huge rush of holidaymakers was noticed at Kamalapur railway station from early Friday.
