Vitamin A plus campaign on Feb 9
The National Vitamin-A Plus campaign will be held across the country on February 9, to provide vitamin-A Plus capsules to all children aged from six months to 11 months.
The Vitamin A plus campaign was scheduled to begin on January 19, but the authorities concerned postponed the campaign after receiving reports of defects in some Vitamin A capsules.
Dr. Mohammad Yunus, director to the Public Health Nutrition institution said, “We have received a letter from health ministry in this regard. The National Vitamin-A Plus campaign will be held on February 9.”
Children aged between six to 11 months get a dose of blue Vitamin A capsule. The supplementary nutrition in the form of Vitamin A capsule is vital for good infant and child health, growth, and development. Vitamin A strengthens children’s immune system, reduce frequency of diarrhoea and measles, and prevent night blindness.
